The two cut-off squares are both the same colour, leaving 32 squares of one colour and 30 squares of the other. Since a domino always covers two adjacent squares, clearly it will cover a light square and a dark square. Therefore, once you have put down 30 dominoes, the two uncovered squares will be of the same colour and so cannot have a side in common.
Hence it is impossible.
